The APE club is an NFT project initiative by a UK based client who aimed to replicate the financial success of the famed HAPE project.
The dynamics of this NFT project leaned towards the unorthodox and the branding required innovative thinking.
The Objective – To create a signature “APE with an Attitude” character design with a wide range of facial expressions, hair styles, clothes and fashion accessories.
We relied heavily on our expertise in digital 3D character design to ensure that the models were technically accurate and a planned stack of interchangeable layers were the final output.
Afterall, they needed to be run and assembled through a randomizer algorithm to generate the 3300 piece NFT collection that were to be sold on the NFT marketplace.
Cinematic and street fashion themes were used to define a visual style. This allowed us to cleverly place the brand elements across the costumes and accessories.
